Just in time for those of you snowed in right now, here is Eleuthera Part II! The snow is beautiful I must say, and I love to photography snowy scenes, but my heart is in the tropics! I hope these photos can help out your imagination in making you feel just a tad bit warmer in these cold temperatures! Here is part II of Eleuthera Island, and there will be 6 posts total! Once again, these are located in the nature section of my website, then in the Eleuthera gallery.
Today we celebrate the life of a great man and inspiration speaker. His ideas and words tramsformed the minds and spirits of people everywhere in this country. I believe we could all take his words and apply them to several aspects of our daily lives even today. In rememberance of this great man, here are a few of his famous quotes. I challenge everyone to take and apply these to our lives in 2011; let it inspire us to love, not hate, and be part of the change.
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase."
"Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed
Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals. "
"I refuse to accept the view that mankind is so tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war that the bright daybreak of peace and brotherhood can never become a reality... I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word. "
"I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
This big Sugar Bowl game has given me the chance to post some pictures. ;-) Ok, so I hope I don't make any enemies but football games.... not my thing. Foggy mornings on lakes, I'm there! I took these a few weeks ago on a foggy morning at Lake Wedington. Such a beautiful morning, and the lake had such a beautiful glassy surface. I really miss summertime, and my photography tends to dwindle in the winter, but sometimes I forget there are still beautiful things in nature in the winter. You just have to look for them, and it's always in the details that I get inspired. Here are a few, and the rest will be in the Arkansas Backroads gallery that is still pretty slim! I need to get to work! Click here to see the Arkansas Backroads gallery.
About me. . . Well, I grew up first in Panama City Florida, then Northwest Arkansas, where I am located now, loving the sunshine and all things outdoors. I had a strong curiosity about physics, architecture, and rocks. I began loving to build tables and birdhouses with my dad, plant gardens, go swimming, go fishing and dig in the dirt. What kind of career does someone like this choose? Civil Engineering of course! I began building roads, sewer systems, and learning politics… For someone like me, this just wasn’t enough. I needed something to go with the concrete side of me so I picked up a camera and have never put it down. I still practice engineering, as this slow economy will allow, but I also consider myself a photographer as well.
Nature photography was my first passion, but I soon started to love photographing people in a photojournalism style.
