Maddax 1st Birthday!

This past Saturday was a very special day for 3 people I know. It was Maddax 1st birthday! And also the birthday of my two best friends (who are twins) Vong & Vee. These two pretended like it wasn't even their birthday to devote the day to their nephew Maddax. They are so selfless and the best friends anyone could ever dream of having. Just wanted to include that because they deserve recognition. :-)
Well little Maddax had lots of friends and family over for a big day of games, cake, food and fun! We all had a blast and enjoyed all of the great food the family prepared. It was such a cute cake too, Elmo! Christina did a great job with all the decorations, games, and planning that went on. I know that all of the little kiddos had a blast. Here is a little preview. The rest of the pictures will be on the website via this link. Please contact Christina for password permission. Thanks!

Magnlia Falls & The Glory Hole Falls

Rain, rain rain. to most people it is depressing and we're ready for it to stop! But on the bright side, and to a nature photographer that means it's waterfall season! Tuesday, I got the chance to go out with my dad and shoot waterfalls all day. Let me tell you, it's been a while since I was out hiking in the woods. At one time, my dad and I would go almost every weekend somewhere. But Tuesday, he showed me up and was climbing up and down those mountains like a young teenager! My age is starting to show I guess.. or maybe it's the gallons of ice cream I have been eating.. :-D Either way, I'm going to embrace this rain and hopefully go out again next week.

The first place we went was in the Buffalo River Area near Boxley Valley. We hiked about 1 mile to Magnolia Falls, and below this waterfall is Woods Boys Falls. If you hike up to the top of the falls and follow the bluff line around (about 0.6 miles), you come to the top of Stahle Falls. On the way is a nice scenic overlook of the valley and the roar of all of the waterfalls and streams in the area was just amazing! It was beautiful.

Next we drove down the highway about 4 more miles and hiked the trail to the Glory Hole. This is an amazing waterfall and well worth the steep hike down and back up. A draiange path meanders down the mountain and over the years has cut a huge hole in the sandstone rock to create a waterfall. On our way down we met some people from the Audubon Society out of Hot Springs who told us the wild magnolia trees around were called Umbrella Magnolias. Such beautiful trees! Enjoy!

Bark for the Cure

As you all may know, this past Saturday was the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. But as you may not know, it was the first annual Bark for the Cure! Over 800 dogs were signed up for the race and all were well adorned in cute pink outfits and collars. This event has raised a lot of money over the years going towards research for breast cancer, and I commend all of those who had a part in this event. I think all of our lives have been affected by this terrible disease, and hopefully someday we will have a cure. Here are a few photos of Blue and Max who had a blast racing!

Thou & Mone's Urban Shots

Nathan and I had the pleasure of shooting an amazing Laotian Wedding Ceremony this past weekend, as well as the reception. It is such an honor to get to be a part of something this special. Thou and Mone are so much fun! We got a chance to take a few urban photos before the reception for fun and this wedding party was so funny! Here is a preview from the shoot. Enjoy. :-)

Photography Outing with dad

Well, the warm weather we had during the new years break gave me the opportunity to go out shooting with my dad. We had a great time. First we went down highway 220 outside of devils den and shot a few pine trees. The next day we went out to War Eagle, and Beaver Arkansas. It was dad's first time seeing the suspension bridge across Table Rock, and it was a beautiful sight to see. If you watch the bridge when the cars go across, you can see it moving! But that's how they are designed to work. Amazing. I wish I got higher than D's in my structures classes! :-) Here are a few pictures from our trip.
